Excellent mechanical properties to low weight.
Read moreIn subsea defence, success depends on pressure resistance, reliability and environmental stability. Diab provides advanced foam core solutions that meet the strict requirements of submarines, underwater systems, sensor protection and submerged structures.
Pressure-tolerant foam solutions are engineered to maintain structural integrity, shape, and buoyancy under extreme hydrostatic pressure, which is especially important for deep-diving naval submarines. Controlled density, low water uptake and resistance to compressive creep support dependable long-term operation for submerged platforms such as torpedoes and autonomous underwater vehicles.
Precision machining and sealing interfaces enable documented and repeatable buoyancy modules. Close collaboration with integrators and acoustic specialists supports optimised damping characteristics and reduced resonance, contributing to stable operation and controlled acoustic behaviour.
Thermal and acoustic insulation properties contribute to system stability and low acoustic detectability in challenging underwater environments. Protective domes and covers help safeguard sensitive equipment, while shock mount solutions absorb mechanical loads and vibrations in demanding operational conditions.
Our materials are used across a wide range of subsea defence systems, including submarines, torpedoes, UUV and AUV payload bays, as well as underwater sensor housings, supporting reliable, durable and high-performance underwater design.
For operations beyond 700 meters, all the way down to the seabed, we offer tailor-made buoyancy systems in syntactic foam through Subsea Composite Solutions, a dedicated division within Diab.
